&*(Green with Envy Tutorial)*&

Hello beautifuls! I'm back again tonight with a tutorial that I decided to do last minute after lots of compliments on the makeup I was wearing. Now, I apologize in advance that I didn't take pictures of each step. I plan to do that with future tutorials but because this one seemed to get such a great response, I decided to attempt to throw together a tutorial with what I had && to give a few tips along the way. =) So here is a picture of the finished look that I will be walking you through! Ignore the silly face! haha =P It definitely isn't my best picture but none the less, it does the makeup justice! =)

Green with Envy
*You can click the images to make them larger*

One of my favorite things to do is to play up my green eyes. I love wearing green on my green eyes because it has helped bring out the color of my eyes, plus.. What can I say? My favorite color is green! =) Also, I was feeling a little flirty the day I did this makeup so all the eye colors have sassy names! ;)

Let's get started!

So after I decided a couple days later to do a tutorial for this, I decided to pull out all the makeup I used and take a few snap shots so you know what products I am talking about during each step!

So let's start with the eyes since they are the focal point of this look!

Here is the list of the products in no order that were used on my eyes.

1.) Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous Waterproof mascara in black.
2.) Sephora blending brush from their holiday collection last year.
3.) NYX Slide on, Glide on, Stay on, & Definitely a Turn on Water Proof, Extreme Shine Eye Liner in Pure White
4.) As a highlight color, Butt Naked from BFTE cosmetics.
5.) As the main bold green, Lavish by BFTE cosmetics.
6.) As the blending between the bold and dark color, Sinful by BFTE cosmetics.
7.) As the start of the dark crease, Dangerous by BFTE cosmetics.
8.) As the dark color in the outer V of the eye, Bondage by BFTE cosmetics.
9.) Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black.
10.) Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer (mini version from collection at Ulta)

Now to start the look!

Step 1: Apply a primer. In my case, I used Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer because it matches my skin tone perfectly and because it really does help hold the eyeshadows. A primer is really helpful with mineral makeup as well.

Step 2: Now here is a trick I love! I applied the NYX eyeliner in Pure White to the inner corners of my eyes and along half of the bottom lashline. This helps to bring light to your eyes in a really dark look. I love doing this trick even when I'm doing neutral looks. I warmed up some of the liner on my hand and applied it to the inner corners with just my finger for this. I like to warm up products like this or even the primer to make a smoother application.

Step 3: Using the Sephora blending brush, I started to apply my colors. I started with my lightest to darkest colors. It tends to be easier to start light to dark because it is a lot harder to remove dark makeup if you mess up starting with dark colors first. I applied Butt Naked under my eyebrows, and applied a little over the NYX Pure White eye liner. The eyeliner works as a base as well to hold the highlight better.

Step 4: Next I applied Lavish, the bright bold green to 3/4 of the eye lid. I love bold bright colors put on this part of the eye because it helps to bring light to the eye as well. I always choose bright shimmery colors for that reason. Bright yellow and greens are my favorite to wear this way.

Step 5: Next I started with Dangerous to start creating the crease. I applied this color to the outer V as well as crease. It's such a beautiful color because it's a deep teal color which compliments the bright green really well.

Step 6: I applied Sinful to help blend where Lavish and Dangerous meet. It helped to soften and blend out the line to be flawless. I truly believe the best tool to have with eye makeup is a blending brush. It helps to soften the looks dramatically, especially since most of my looks have a lot of colors involved. I also cleaned off the blending brush by swiping it across a paper towel to remove any makeup from it and blended the harsh line that Dangerous created. It is definitely a dark color and a little goes a long way with this makeup!

Step 7: Next I took my favorite outer V color, Bondage, and applied it to just the outer V. Don't be fooled by the camera's take of this color. It really is a dark almost charcoal color that works AMAZING for darkening a look. This color you could use with pretty much any look to darken it up! I then did the same routine of wiping the brush clean and blending the edges of the eye makeup to blur that line so it wasn't a harsh line.

Step 8: Next I applied a VERY thin line with the Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner along the top lashline. Liquid liner takes some practice and my first few times working with it were not pretty haha but it is worth the effort for a bold dark line. I start in the middle of the eye and slowly work my way out and then work from the inner eye out. I like this liner because it's waterproof and you can really make a thin line or a bold line quickly with the applicator. I would recommend light hands for this.

Step 9: Finish off the eyes with Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous mascara! I also love this formula because it is waterproof and I love the applicator of this mascara!

Now the face!

The products for the face in no particular order are:

1.) Coastal Scents 10 Blush Palette
2.) Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor in Pink & Proper.
3.) ELF cosmetics Complexion Brush
4.) Sephora Professional mineral powder brush
5.) Jonny Cosmetics Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation in Porcelain.

Step 1: I applied Jonny Cosmetics foundation in Porcelain using the Sephora mineral powder brush. Now, I have not talked about this company before because I just met Jonny on Thursday who gave me a sample to try and I have to say I fell in love with this foundation! The formula is fantastic and it feels light and soft when you put it on. It is a mousse consistency but once applied, turns to a soft satin finish. It's fantastic! I will definitely be mentioning this company later in my favorites post coming soon!

Step 2: I then blended the first two colors of the Coastal Scents 10 blush Palette and applied a very light application of this color. I didn't want to over power my face with too much color so I just applied enough to add more warmth to my cheeks.

Step 3: I applied Maybelline ColorSensational lipcolor in Pink & Proper on my lips. I love that this has a creamy formula and doesn't get cakey like a lot of lip colors do overtime. I also didn't apply this lipcolor as richly as I would usually because I just wanted something to add a little color but not be again over powering the boldness of the eye makeup.

I try to stick with one bold aspect of my makeup. Either bold lips or bold eyes. In this case, it was bold green smokey eyes.

I apologize this didn't have as many pictures and I promise the next one will be picture and not as much word described! =)

I hope you enjoyed this look. I'll be doing a look tutorial with the BFTE Coffee Shop Collection soon as well as a tutorial on one my FAVORITE looks which is very pinup look with neutral eyes and bright red lips!

Until then, stay smiling beautifuls!

XoXo,
LB

&*(BFTE Cosmetics Coffee Shop Collection Review && Swatches)*&

Hello lovelys! I am back! With a better camera, better and stronger passion for this blog, as well as just feeling all around better as the evening has gone on. If you have followed my personal facebook page, you'd know that I suffered from an severe allergy flare up yesterday. I unfortunately am allergic to pretty much everything around me so I must have touched something and became seriously sick pretty fast. I'm visiting my parents right now for the holidays and they have three cats which I am beyond severely allergic too but I'm determined to spend time with them when I can so I'm toughing it out! =)

Anyways, I am feeling some better this evening so as promised, I have two new posts for you!

Thank you again for all of your support and understanding! I see how many views I get everyday and I'm beyond humbled and thankful for each and every one of you!! You are all amazing!

Alright alright, I'm shutting up and getting to the post!

BFTE (Beauty From The Earth) Cosmetics launched the Coffee Shop limited collection awhile ago now and I'm just getting around to swatching it after playing with the colors for a bit now. A new look will be posted soon of using only the colors from this collection!

Until then, here is the swatches and review!

You can get this collection for $33.00 at: http://www.bftecosmetics.com/Coffee-Shop-Collection_p_774.html.

This collection includes 5 full size colors that are all extremely wearable for those who love neutrals. I actually bought one for me and one for my Mom who loves little less bold looks like I love. haha

This collection offers a wide variety of neutrals including a matte color that can be used as a highlight.

The colors are as follows:

Top row, left to right: Salted Caramel and Mocchiato.
Bottom row, left to right: Chai, Espresso, and Caffe Latte.

Swatches match the same line up as the above picture! =)
First swatch is dry. Second swatch is wet. Third swatch is done over Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer.

Now the review:

If I was being completely honest, this is not my favorite collection from BFTE. The quality is amazing as expected from BFTE but the colors offered in this collection are just not colors I would wear a lot. I do wear neutrals more often as of lately but these colors are just not my go to colors although I do use Espresso for a liner a lot. I like how it is a rich dark brown which works well for a liner. Unfortunately Caffe Latte was way too close to my skin tone that you can't tell I'm wearing it if it is applied dry or over my usual primer. I think my favorite colors out of this collection would be Espresso and Mocchiato. Chai becomes almost bronze when you are blending it out so it isn't a color I would wear often. Salted Caramel is pretty but not a color I would use often.

I am NOT saying this is a bad collection. These are my personal opinions of colors. These are colors that I just wouldn't wear often. The quality is just what you expect from BFTE. It's amazing products and if you've seen any of my previous posts, you'd know I have about 300 colors from them now. I definitely stand behind this company as you will see my next post is a BFTE cosmetics eye look! =)

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed the swatches and review of this collection. Up next is a break down of a look I did the other day! I had lots of compliments on it so I decided to do a tutorial so keep an eye out for that post which also includes all the makeup I used for my entire face including a new cosmetic line that I will be talking about soon! Exciting stuff! =)

Until next time, stay smiling beautifuls!
