&*(Green with Envy Tutorial)*&

Hello beautifuls! I'm back again tonight with a tutorial that I decided to do last minute after lots of compliments on the makeup I was wearing. Now, I apologize in advance that I didn't take pictures of each step. I plan to do that with future tutorials but because this one seemed to get such a great response, I decided to attempt to throw together a tutorial with what I had && to give a few tips along the way. =) So here is a picture of the finished look that I will be walking you through! Ignore the silly face! haha =P It definitely isn't my best picture but none the less, it does the makeup justice! =)

Green with Envy
*You can click the images to make them larger*

One of my favorite things to do is to play up my green eyes. I love wearing green on my green eyes because it has helped bring out the color of my eyes, plus.. What can I say? My favorite color is green! =) Also, I was feeling a little flirty the day I did this makeup so all the eye colors have sassy names! ;)

Let's get started!

So after I decided a couple days later to do a tutorial for this, I decided to pull out all the makeup I used and take a few snap shots so you know what products I am talking about during each step!

So let's start with the eyes since they are the focal point of this look!

Here is the list of the products in no order that were used on my eyes.

1.) Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous Waterproof mascara in black.
2.) Sephora blending brush from their holiday collection last year.
3.) NYX Slide on, Glide on, Stay on, & Definitely a Turn on Water Proof, Extreme Shine Eye Liner in Pure White
4.) As a highlight color, Butt Naked from BFTE cosmetics.
5.) As the main bold green, Lavish by BFTE cosmetics.
6.) As the blending between the bold and dark color, Sinful by BFTE cosmetics.
7.) As the start of the dark crease, Dangerous by BFTE cosmetics.
8.) As the dark color in the outer V of the eye, Bondage by BFTE cosmetics.
9.) Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black.
10.) Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer (mini version from collection at Ulta)

Now to start the look!

Step 1: Apply a primer. In my case, I used Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer because it matches my skin tone perfectly and because it really does help hold the eyeshadows. A primer is really helpful with mineral makeup as well.

Step 2: Now here is a trick I love! I applied the NYX eyeliner in Pure White to the inner corners of my eyes and along half of the bottom lashline. This helps to bring light to your eyes in a really dark look. I love doing this trick even when I'm doing neutral looks. I warmed up some of the liner on my hand and applied it to the inner corners with just my finger for this. I like to warm up products like this or even the primer to make a smoother application.

Step 3: Using the Sephora blending brush, I started to apply my colors. I started with my lightest to darkest colors. It tends to be easier to start light to dark because it is a lot harder to remove dark makeup if you mess up starting with dark colors first. I applied Butt Naked under my eyebrows, and applied a little over the NYX Pure White eye liner. The eyeliner works as a base as well to hold the highlight better.

Step 4: Next I applied Lavish, the bright bold green to 3/4 of the eye lid. I love bold bright colors put on this part of the eye because it helps to bring light to the eye as well. I always choose bright shimmery colors for that reason. Bright yellow and greens are my favorite to wear this way.

Step 5: Next I started with Dangerous to start creating the crease. I applied this color to the outer V as well as crease. It's such a beautiful color because it's a deep teal color which compliments the bright green really well.

Step 6: I applied Sinful to help blend where Lavish and Dangerous meet. It helped to soften and blend out the line to be flawless. I truly believe the best tool to have with eye makeup is a blending brush. It helps to soften the looks dramatically, especially since most of my looks have a lot of colors involved. I also cleaned off the blending brush by swiping it across a paper towel to remove any makeup from it and blended the harsh line that Dangerous created. It is definitely a dark color and a little goes a long way with this makeup!

Step 7: Next I took my favorite outer V color, Bondage, and applied it to just the outer V. Don't be fooled by the camera's take of this color. It really is a dark almost charcoal color that works AMAZING for darkening a look. This color you could use with pretty much any look to darken it up! I then did the same routine of wiping the brush clean and blending the edges of the eye makeup to blur that line so it wasn't a harsh line.

Step 8: Next I applied a VERY thin line with the Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner along the top lashline. Liquid liner takes some practice and my first few times working with it were not pretty haha but it is worth the effort for a bold dark line. I start in the middle of the eye and slowly work my way out and then work from the inner eye out. I like this liner because it's waterproof and you can really make a thin line or a bold line quickly with the applicator. I would recommend light hands for this.

Step 9: Finish off the eyes with Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous mascara! I also love this formula because it is waterproof and I love the applicator of this mascara!

Now the face!

The products for the face in no particular order are:

1.) Coastal Scents 10 Blush Palette
2.) Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor in Pink & Proper.
3.) ELF cosmetics Complexion Brush
4.) Sephora Professional mineral powder brush
5.) Jonny Cosmetics Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation in Porcelain.

Step 1: I applied Jonny Cosmetics foundation in Porcelain using the Sephora mineral powder brush. Now, I have not talked about this company before because I just met Jonny on Thursday who gave me a sample to try and I have to say I fell in love with this foundation! The formula is fantastic and it feels light and soft when you put it on. It is a mousse consistency but once applied, turns to a soft satin finish. It's fantastic! I will definitely be mentioning this company later in my favorites post coming soon!

Step 2: I then blended the first two colors of the Coastal Scents 10 blush Palette and applied a very light application of this color. I didn't want to over power my face with too much color so I just applied enough to add more warmth to my cheeks.

Step 3: I applied Maybelline ColorSensational lipcolor in Pink & Proper on my lips. I love that this has a creamy formula and doesn't get cakey like a lot of lip colors do overtime. I also didn't apply this lipcolor as richly as I would usually because I just wanted something to add a little color but not be again over powering the boldness of the eye makeup.

I try to stick with one bold aspect of my makeup. Either bold lips or bold eyes. In this case, it was bold green smokey eyes.

I apologize this didn't have as many pictures and I promise the next one will be picture and not as much word described! =)

I hope you enjoyed this look. I'll be doing a look tutorial with the BFTE Coffee Shop Collection soon as well as a tutorial on one my FAVORITE looks which is very pinup look with neutral eyes and bright red lips!

Until then, stay smiling beautifuls!

&*(BFTE Cosmetics Coffee Shop Collection Review && Swatches)*&

Hello lovelys! I am back! With a better camera, better and stronger passion for this blog, as well as just feeling all around better as the evening has gone on. If you have followed my personal facebook page, you'd know that I suffered from an severe allergy flare up yesterday. I unfortunately am allergic to pretty much everything around me so I must have touched something and became seriously sick pretty fast. I'm visiting my parents right now for the holidays and they have three cats which I am beyond severely allergic too but I'm determined to spend time with them when I can so I'm toughing it out! =)

Anyways, I am feeling some better this evening so as promised, I have two new posts for you!

Thank you again for all of your support and understanding! I see how many views I get everyday and I'm beyond humbled and thankful for each and every one of you!! You are all amazing!

Alright alright, I'm shutting up and getting to the post!

BFTE (Beauty From The Earth) Cosmetics launched the Coffee Shop limited collection awhile ago now and I'm just getting around to swatching it after playing with the colors for a bit now. A new look will be posted soon of using only the colors from this collection!

Until then, here is the swatches and review!

You can get this collection for $33.00 at: http://www.bftecosmetics.com/Coffee-Shop-Collection_p_774.html.

This collection includes 5 full size colors that are all extremely wearable for those who love neutrals. I actually bought one for me and one for my Mom who loves little less bold looks like I love. haha

This collection offers a wide variety of neutrals including a matte color that can be used as a highlight.

The colors are as follows:

Top row, left to right: Salted Caramel and Mocchiato.
Bottom row, left to right: Chai, Espresso, and Caffe Latte.

Swatches match the same line up as the above picture! =)
First swatch is dry. Second swatch is wet. Third swatch is done over Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer.

Now the review:

If I was being completely honest, this is not my favorite collection from BFTE. The quality is amazing as expected from BFTE but the colors offered in this collection are just not colors I would wear a lot. I do wear neutrals more often as of lately but these colors are just not my go to colors although I do use Espresso for a liner a lot. I like how it is a rich dark brown which works well for a liner. Unfortunately Caffe Latte was way too close to my skin tone that you can't tell I'm wearing it if it is applied dry or over my usual primer. I think my favorite colors out of this collection would be Espresso and Mocchiato. Chai becomes almost bronze when you are blending it out so it isn't a color I would wear often. Salted Caramel is pretty but not a color I would use often.

I am NOT saying this is a bad collection. These are my personal opinions of colors. These are colors that I just wouldn't wear often. The quality is just what you expect from BFTE. It's amazing products and if you've seen any of my previous posts, you'd know I have about 300 colors from them now. I definitely stand behind this company as you will see my next post is a BFTE cosmetics eye look! =)

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed the swatches and review of this collection. Up next is a break down of a look I did the other day! I had lots of compliments on it so I decided to do a tutorial so keep an eye out for that post which also includes all the makeup I used for my entire face including a new cosmetic line that I will be talking about soon! Exciting stuff! =)

Until next time, stay smiling beautifuls!

&*(New BFTE Makeup Looks)*&

Hello loves! I am back again after a very busy week of work and college work. I swear when I stop having to write papers, I'll be super excited! haha In the mean time, I just finished school work and it's 3:30 AM and what's a girl to do to unwind? Post her looks she did this week of course! haha

So as you may have saw if you looked at my last post, I've been seriously becoming addicted with BFTE Cosmetics! I had ordered two more 16 sample tins and have been only wearing their eye makeup anywhere I go! haha After trying some new colors, I definitely have my wish list building for their Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales! haha I plan to be on their website, www.bftecosmetics.com as soon as the sales are posted! =) If you haven't tried their products and want too, this would be the perfect time since they will definitely be having sales since this has actually already been discussed on their facebook fan page! Anyways.. back to what I was saying hehe I know I promised this sooner but of course, life got in the way and my computer broke so I haven't been able to get on here yet other than for school work pretty much. Stick with me, my computer is supposed to be back in a couple weeks, hopefully sooner though, and I'll be back to posting again. It's just been really bad timing! And I lost my camera as well so that isn't helping either. Thank goodness for my phone! =)

So enough about my mishaps lately lol Here we go!!

Look #1 -- Winter Blues

Inner corner && highlight: Butt Naked
Middle of Eye: Winter Blues
Outer Corner && a little into the Crease: Bondage

My thoughts: First of all, yes that is me! haha Secondly oh buddy, this doesn't show how sparkly winter blues is. I blame bad lighting.. sigh. Even flash on my phone just didn't help. But it's such a beautiful color and definitely on my list to buy a full size of. I have been into adding some sparkle too my looks and this was the perfect color to do so! Butt Naked is by far my favorite highlight for myself and bondage is the perfect color to smoke out any look! It's actually not as blue as the picture looks. Once I find my camera or during the day, I will recreate this look to show you the colors better! But such amazing colors together!

Look #2 -- Whisper too Me

Inner corner && highlight: Butt Naked **See a pattern lol*
Middle of Eye: Whisper
Outer corner: Aphrodite
Liner: Bondage applied wet **Another pattern hehe*

My thoughts: OMG I am in love with Whisper! It is such a pretty duochrome (color that looks one color in the jar, different color completely on your eyes). This seriously is a look I do quite often just because I love the classic look too it. The thicker black liner, lighter eyeshadow, and warm lip color is timeless! When I started my job, this was my go to look. Now I'm branching out to adding colors and such! haha =) I work in a store that has a Sephora so I get to be adventurous with my makeup which I won't complain about!! =) Anyways, back to the eyeshadows! Aphrodite is not given justice here! It's such a pretty color and also one of those colors I keep in my makeup bag all the time. I carry about 15 eyeshadows from BFTE with me at all times! hehe After I lost my tins back awhile ago, I keep my favorites that I couldn't stand to lose in my makeup bag in my purse. It goes with me everywhere. <3

Look #3 -- Pretty in Pink

Inner Corner && inner lower Lashline: Aloha
Highlight: Butt Naked
Middle of Eye: Orchid
Outer Corner: Wasted Time
Lower outer Lashline: Aphrodite

My thoughts: So I wanted to play with color! This is sparkly and the colors are so fun! I didn't get around to doing my bright yellow/green look or my peacock look yet! I will as soon as I find my camera, hopefully in the next day or two. I wanted to really showcase their colors but my camera on my phone just wasn't working well. The pics I'm posting are the ones that I thought turned out much better. Anyways, these colors blend so well and I love Orchid, another color on my wish list! lol I think these colors are compliment each other well and is actually really wearable. =) I have found brights and such are actually really wearable when you blend them well and with good complimenting colors. =)

Look #4 -- Ocean Calls

Inner Corner && highlight: Butt Naked **It is actually really light on the inner half of the eye but I couldn't get the camera to work with me.. Sigh**
Middle of Eye: Stonewashed
Lashline && Blended into Outer Corner: Bermuda
Outer Corner: Atomic Teal and Steel

My thoughts: So this look kept changing as I was doing it before work. haha The outer corner I wanted to be a smoked out blue but I just wanted to use a little different than just one color so I combined several colors with ALOT, and I do mean ALOT, of blending! =) I like the effect it had and I had a lot of compliments. Now this is again one of those pictures that doesn't give the sparkles justice. Sigh.. Stonewashed is really sparkly and I liked how it looked professional but still fun for work! I never really liked the sparkle but I'm loving it now for sure! Stonewashed && Atomic Teal are also on my wishlist! hehe I've been really into blues lately.

Look #5 -- Doll Me Up

Inner 3/4 of Eye && highlight: Butt Naked
Outer Corner: Celtic Charms
Over Black eyeliner: Oak

My thoughts: I feel like this look makes me look like a doll. haha But I love the thick black liner. Seems to be my go to look lately and I used to not feel comfortable with it but now that I'm getting so used to liquid eyeliner, I like it. lol I wanted to add a little twist to this so I put Oak over the black liner. If you have seen Oak, it is EXTREMELY sparkly brown and it looked great over the liner. I already had such strong eyes with the black liner that I kept the rest light other than smoking out the outer corner just a little bit and extending the wing liner with a little of Oak && Celtic Charms. People loved it at work and kept asking me if I got my makeup done at Sephora before work. hehe Nope!

Anyways, these are the looks I have to show for now. I'll have more once I find my camera. hehe I can't believe I lost it. Sigh. I promise to have more up soon, even if it means buying a new camera which I need to do anyways. Wonder which camera works best for close up pics!? Hmmmm... Any other bloggers out there want to share good cameras for me to look into? I really do want a better camera but need to figure out which ones work best for close ups. Hmmm... Well until then, remember to stay smiling and will talk with you all again soon!

Love,

&*(New BFTE Cosmetics Haul/Swatches)*&

Hello lovelys! I know it's been a LONG time since I posted. I apologize.. again! I just had my tonsils removed this week, had more doctor appointments than I'd like these last few months, school, and a new job have all been calling for my attention! Luckily most doctors appointments are behind me, I'm healthier and back with a new post!!

And how exciting is it that it is of BFTE Cosmetics! <3 I ABSOLUTELY love this company so of course when I finally do get to splurge a little money on myself, I go straight to this website and picked myself up two more 16 sample tins, the Color of the Week, and I had to get me a full size of my favorite highlighter, Butt Naked. =) I couldn't be happier with this company! The packaging is adorable, the quality is outstanding, the samples last quite a few looks since they are so pigmented, and their customer service is great!

Anyways, here is the two tins I got, minus the two full size jars I ordered that will be pictured later in this blog!

I love color coding my tins to make it easier to find the colors I'm looking for. I can now name all of the colors I have by just looking at the colors! haha Can you tell I am a fan?

By the way, you can click on the images to see a larger picture! I decided to try taking pictures with my iPhone and they turned out pretty great, a lot better than my digital camera which is sad.. lol Anyways, enough of me rambling! Let's get to some colors and swatches!

I will post the colors in their jar first, name the colors, and then do a pic with the swatches.
For the swatches, the colors are in the same order as the picture of the jars.
I also did three swatches of each color. Dry, over Urban Decay Primer Potion, and wet.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!! I know I will! I plan to do some new looks through out this week and will post the beginning of next week. =)

Colors in order left to right..
First row: Lavish, Jaded, Winter Blues, Hocus Pocus
Second Row: Blue Pacific, Peacock, Spellbound, Tickle Me

My thoughts on this group: First, I love how these look so great, wet or dry. Super pigmented too! It doesn't take much of this eyeshadow to go a long way. =) If I had to pick a favorite out of this group, it would be a toss up between Winter Blues or Peacock. I like how Winter Blues is so sparkly and really does make me think of Winter and Peacock is such a fun color and looks great both wet or dry!

Colors in order left to right..
First row: Night Train, Titan, Dirty Deals, Atomic Teal
Second Row: Calypso, Nebula, Bermuda, Black

My thoughts on this group: Do you see how black, Black is when wet!!! OMG! It makes the perfect color for an eye liner! I think its such an interesting color because it is matte and you don't usually find that in black and I was surprised at the difference in the dry and wet color. If I had to pick a favorite, I would have to say Atomic Teal or Calypso. This swatch doesn't give Atomic Teal justice haha It's a black with a fine green glitter. So pretty and it will make the greatest liner color! Calypso is so sparkly and such a wearable blue in my opinion with just the right about of "flash."

Colors in order left to right..
First row: $10 Pineapple, Satin Sheets, Mellow Yellow, Linen
Second row: Aphrodite, Thistle, Iced Violets, Whisper

My thoughts on this group: By far the colors that stands out too me is Aphrodite and Whisper. I think Aphrodite is such a beautiful purple color. I usually wear dark purples but I love this color! Whisper, don't be fooled by how it looks in the jar or even in my swatch! This color is just one of those colors that is hard to pick up on camera and it definitely isn't the peachy color it shows in the jar. It is actually the prettiest light shimmery lavender color. Such a beautiful color in person! If I was to pick a favorite, it would be either of those two colors. <3

Colors in order left to right..
First row: Orchid, Swift, High Maintenance, Oasis
Second row: Wasted Time, Stonewashed, Bondage, Romeo

My thoughts on this group: Oh jeeze, so much to say! This is probably my favorite color group since most of my favorites land in this picture lol Where to start, I absolutely love Orchid. I personally like to wear this color wet for that vibrant purply pink color. My next favorites are the last three colors on the bottom row: Stonewashed, Bondage, and Romeo. I have been wearing Romeo and Bondage together a lot lately. After testing out some of the new colors, I will definitely be buying Bondage in a full size. It's the perfect color to smoke out looks. Stonewashed is such a pretty color too. I love the light blue gray shade of it! Perfect for the wintery months ahead!

Colors in order left to right..
Butt Naked, Wicked

My thoughts on this group: Butt Naked is by far my favorite highlight shade. I went to Sephora looking for a highlight color to promote on my blog and I was just flat out not impressed with any other high light but this one for my skin tone. haha I plan to be a lifetime shopper with BFTE for this color alone, although there are tons of other reasons why I will shop with them again haha Wicked is an interesting color. It is one of the first duo-chrome colors I have worked with. It's definitely something different but I'm glad I grabbed this color when it was the color of the week. It looks purple in the jar, but actually wearing it, it has a green sheen too it. Very pretty!

All in all, it was a successful shopping day for me and as always, this company never fails in customer service or quality! And with the company holding contests everyday this month on their facebook page, I have obsessed over checking their site to try to win free product! Can't beat a company who gives back to their fans and customers!!!!!!!

I will have a new post the beginning of next week with looks that I have done through out this week with BFTE Cosmetics. I literally only wear eye makeup from BFTE to work so I'll take some pics throughout the week as I do new looks! =) Until next time, remember to always stay smiling!! Talk with you all soon!
